Michael Good: Anticlastic Raising     Masters Workshop with Michael Good "Anticlastic Raising"   Saturday & Sunday June 2nd & June 3rd (10 am - 4 pm)   This course will cover all aspects of Anticlastic Raising, the unique metalsmithing technique developed by Michael Good. He will lead students through a series of exercises designed to teach the principles of how metal is moved from flat sheet into non-definitive forms. Students will practice each stage in order to digest the concepts presented before moving on to the next exercise. “Michael Good, whose name is synonymous with anticlastic raising, has developed and expanded the definition of jewelry and metalsmithing to sculptural forms that are a natural extension of the human form.” Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania of Belgian parents, Michael Good is primarily self-taught as a jeweler and sculptor. He has been a goldsmith and teacher since 1969, and has taught workshops for professional organizations, schools, and universities in North America and Europe. His work is represented in stores, galleries and private collections internationally.
